Letter of the month:

Practice in the class: This month we will learn one new letter in its upper and lower
case. Students will write and practice words starting with this letters. I will use picture
cards that ask students to associate letters with photos that have items beginning with
an associated letter. Students will also begin to learn short sentences that contain words
that begin with the letter of the month. We will continue to have activities with vowels
and consonants. Moreover, we will review all of the previous letters we have studied so
far.
In addition, we will play an activity where children will use Alphabetical magnets to
create words on the board. They will also do writing exercises in their books.
Additionally, we will review letters and words from previous weeks.
We will continue to learn and say days of the week, seasons, months, colors, shapes
and numbers. We do this by having an activity where students play the teacher role and
ask other students what the day it is, month, weather, seasons, etc. Students will also
engage other students in conversational activities where they ask them their name, their
age, the color of their hair, eyes and other questions, such as: What is the name of
your church? and What is the name of your school? and What grade are you in
now? We will review the months new letters and words at the end of the month with
review activities.
