1. For someone working in your field, please describe the fantasies versus realities of the job.
(fantasy vs. reality)
Youd think youd have to follow the rules of any other school district but get to go by your own teaching
rules. That through working in the church you would have to be extra disciplinary, however it is just like any other
school.

2. What is a typical day of work or activities for someone in your working field?
Getting the children during pick up and drop off. A typical school day, with lunch and recess and school
crafts. Then once the kids are gone go home and grade papers and things like that.

3. What potential growth does you field have?

Not much growth. Teaching just is what it is and I enjoy doing it.

4. What do you think the future holds for your field?

Revised Fall 2013

To continue doing what Im doing. Im hoping that technology will help a lot with grading and school
activities.

5. How much off time or personal time are you given within your field?
There isnt much extra time because I have a life outside of my job with my daughter and tennis.

6. Do you think your job gives enough personal time for proper community involvement?
Yes, because the children get picked up early enough in the day that I am willing to volunteer and be
present at my daughters tennis matches.

7. How would you advertise the need for more volunteers in your community?
Show people in need through flyers and email notifications. Technology is more advanced and the ability
to get the attention of the community is harder without it.

8. What is the most rewarding experience youve encountered through your job or volunteer work?
The ability to see the improvement in the children and gaining self-responsibility through my community
work.

9. What are other ways you might volunteer besides what you already participate in?
A local animal shelter or homeless shelter.

10. How much do you recommend volunteering to others?

I highly recommend it because its a good learning experience and you feel like youve made a
difference to those in need.
