Member of Issue Based Theatre Class
In my Junior year of high school, I took this class in which we as students regularly sifted through and recycled the
entire schools trash but, more importantly, we travelled to local preschools and elementary schools to interact with
children and help them to create their own stories. After creating scenes based off of this stories and rehearsing for
weeks, we went back and performed the childrens stories for them. For a middle school, we created scenes as a class
that involved issues such as bullying and peer pressure and performed these scenes and skits for them in order to
encourage and motivate the students. I would have taken the class again my Senior year; however, my creative
writing teacher enlisted me for the creative writing departments literary magazine class, so I let the spot go to
another lucky student.
