Reflection
This is the second lesson that I taught. The students are familiar with worksers, the
student's have a background about the community workers and where they do work. I
evaluate the students understand by using informal assessment which is circle game it
is like a discussion between the teacher and the students. However, during this
assessment I asks the students to move the circle to choose one community workers,
then they have some question to reivew the lesson that provide vocabulary words,
simple present tense, places, workers and vehicles. Teachers facilitate learning by
providing students with critical feedback on their learning progress and by helping
them identify learning problems." (Bloom, Madaus, & Hastings, 1981; Stiggins,
2002). Linked to professional development plan (PDP goals), in this lesson I applied
variety of effective teaching learning techniques. That I want to make sure each
student an active player in learning process. "Students engaged in active, deep
learning are not passively taking in information from instructors but are reading,
writing, discussing, and problem solving" (Bonwell & Eison,1991). Related to
teaching competency, classroom management I had excellent behavior management,
modeled writing, time management in activities, visual reminders, and verbal. In this
lesson, I used time management in activities such as audio timer, visual reminders and
oral reminders. Well, all of these are the strengths during this lesson. While, I had
some suggestion for next time I have to use different activites to reinforce skills.
