Materials
Students began new unit by completing a
QOD. Continuing on, students took notes from
the lecture and PowerPoint on the physical
development of infant 0-3 months old.
Students were assigned the Flipbook
assignment.
Class period started with students taking a
Kahoot review quiz from information on
physical development. They proceeded to
take notes on social/emotional and
intellectual development of newborns.
Students were given the rest of class time to
finish creating their flipbooks and transferring
their note to the book.
Students used the information presented to
them during lecture on the approximate costs
of raising a child to graph out the cost
compared to buying a house or going to
college. Students used their information to
participate in the price is Right game show
imitation activity.
Students were given the video guide and
shown the 1st part of a 3 part series on the
social, emotional, physical and cognitive
development of a 1-3 year old.

Students participated in a class discussion


regarding the Theory of Mind and makebelieve play in toddlers. In small learning
groups, students worked together to
complete the packet on toddler development
using the textbook, group collaboration and
online research.
Students were given information from lecture
on the basics of the social/ Emotional,
Physical and Cognitive Development of
preschool aged children. They were assigned
to work in groups to create and present a 20minute parenting class on preschool aged
children.
Work day- Student worked within their groups
to complete their preschool parenting class.

After student finished the exam, they class
graded their test together. Once finished
