Matt has already proven to be an effective, compassionate and passionate instructor, liked and respected by students and staff during his short time at our school. The sills he has developed and honed will serve him well in any teaching assignment within his knowledge base, Matt brings both intelligence and intensity to his preparation. He does not shy away from challenging tasks, devoting an impressive amount of time and energy to outside study and preparation. While he gathers valuable help and resources from other staff members, building a sense of collegiality, he injects ‘many new and effective ideas into his lesson plans. This work is evident in his execution of lessons. Class sessions are brisk and purposeful; students are, for the most part, on task, receptive and engaged. At times when plans have failed to meet his expectations, he is quick to seek advice and assistance in correcting them. ‘One of Matt's strongest traits is his rapport with this students. Students in both Religion and English classes clearly respect him. His sometimes quirky sense of humor, punctuated by his large vocabulary and allusions to people and events both fictional and factual keeps students on their toes. They clearly are learning in his classroom. The respect is such that the Senior Class voted him as their Baccalaureate speaker, a notable honor especially since he is essentially a first-year teacher. am very confident in throwing my support behind Matt Galli’s goals in education.
