7.1 Meet professional ethics


and responsibilities

This artefact is
taken from my final
professional
experience III report
which I completed
at a Catholic
Primary School.

This artefact displays the possible


impacts on my teaching as well as the
students learning by indicating that I
am professionally addressing the
standards.

This comment reflects on the


high standards I have
ensured during my third
practicum. Especially in
regards to expected attire
and the strict following of
school guidelines and
policies. (7.1)

key principles described in
codes of ethics and conduct
for the teaching profession.
7.3 Engage with the
parents/carers
Understand strategies for
working effectively,
sensitively and confidentially
with parents/carers

By dressing in the correct attire, it


delivers a professional message to
parents, the staff, the students and the
wider community. It allows me to
present myself in a professional way,
which in return will cater professionally
for the learning need of the students.
By engaging with the parents and
carers, I noticed a slight increase in
the learning the children were doing at
home, this improved their willingness
to assist their children in their
homework tasks, including home
reading and soundwaves.

It also notes the initiative I


used to make contact with
the parents at the begging of
my practicum and introduce
myself as well as provide
some information about
myself and some of the
things I would be doing with
their children whilst on my
placement. (7.3).
