1. Target audience - For the website, the desired target audience is 14-25 year
olds who are used to gaming and modern electronics. This is because, intriguing
people in the category can provide easier advertisement placement and
popularity of the site. Therefore, selling more items and becoming a more
popular sight.
2. The functional requirements
Amount of Pages I would like at least 4-5 pages to fit all of my necessary
information on them, and maintain a good, professional web site standard.
Navigation Bar I will have a blue, drop shadowed navigation bar.
3. What resources will be needed? Web authoring software, cameras, scanner
etc. and how will they be used? What resources have been created already?
How will they fit into the design of the website?
4. Explain in detail each of the pages to the client give some examples of
items within each page. Could include images of design work here
5. Timescale for completion
6. Copyright issues (e.g. Checking copyright of images used)

7. Confidentiality issues (e.g. Information received will be kept confidential)

e.g. any information submitted via forms
8. Discuss ethical and moral reasons. No bad language, full-nudity, offensive
material to race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability. No reference
to drugs and/or people in respect of libellous content.
9. Discuss legal considerations:
A.

Legal information required on a website http://www.seqlegal.com/blog/website-legal-information-basicrequirements For a registered business, the website needs to display the

following Company Information the Business Name, place of registration,

registered number, its registered office address and if it is being wound up.
B.

What are the requirements of W3C in terms of accessibility of your

website? http://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG20/glance/ . All websites must adhere
to Priority 1 of the Web Accessibility Guidelines set out at W3C

C. If the website collects user data (i.e. via simple enquiry form, or shopping cart),

display a Privacy Policy informing the user what the business does with the
data and that it conforms to the The Data Protection Act. The Privacy Policy
needs to explain what cookies the website will create and what they are for.
D. Require user consent to leave cookies on the visitors machine, unless the

cookie is a necessary requirement for the website to function

Functional Requirements Discuss the requirements of

the site e.g.
1. Amount of pages:

I would like a minimum of 3 or 4 pages. Keep this in mind throughout the

planning and production stages of the work. Think carefully about which pages
should be created.

2. Necessary banner / animated carousel:

A banner or carousel of images to be created which includes a logo. Could

include an image of the design of the banner, etc

3. Navigation bar:

The website should include navigation which should be clearly structured so as

to allow customers to use it with ease. Could include an image of the design or
general bootstrap navigation bar concept

4. Colour Scheme and Background:

The website should obviously include a complimentary, yet limited, colour

scheme and therefore you will need to make sure that you only use a few
colours which match together. Use some of the websites in the Dreamweaver
bootstrap booklet to include as screenshots of possible colour themes

5. Screen Icon:

You must include at least one custom-made screen icon which obviously needs
to link in with the rest of the site.

6. Web Graphics:

The website will need to include suitable web graphics so that its attractive to
look at and helps to create a good website design. You could mention the default
sizes required based on the templates in Dreamweaver. Video, images,

awareness of saving objects for the web and sizes. Adjusting in Photoshop as
necessary

7. Links:

Throughout the website, a range of different links need to be used; including,

text links, button links and graphic links. Could discuss both internal and
external links

8. Tables:

I like the use of tables to not only set up, but also to standardise, information.

9. Text:

As far as text goes, it needs to be appropriately formatted with a font of sans or

sans serif. Examples such as Ariel, Verdana or Calibri would be ideal.

10.

Form:

11.

Check boxes e.g agree to terms and conditions or being contacted

again by the company (examples)
o Radio buttons - could be male female etc.
o List menus - e.g. title, gender etc.
o Buttons - e.g. submit, reset form
o Set some fields as required fields
o Set some max character lengths up
o Set the tab index accordingly
Email Address:

I want the website to include an active form to collect customers details, this
will be collecting details such as the customers phone number, email address,
card details etc. Discuss what will be collected. Try to include:
o

12.

13.

There must be a link to an email address where potential customers can send
questions about specific products or regarding anything about the site in
general.
Embedded Media
This may be a video or embedded google map possibly

Accessibility:

The website needs to be accessible in the form of pop-ups on graphics, valid

alternate text and a consistent font & colour.
