Before you begin ta paint, stand back and look at the whole picture—windows and window treatments, cabinets, doors, and furniture—to decide how you want to place the designs. Remember to step back every so often and look to see what's needed. For this kitchen, I chase wandering, free-flowing vines around the windows, placing them as branches might naturally grow. You might choose to paint a border around a ceiling or along a chair rail or center designs over doors, windows, or stoves or on kitchen cabinet doors. The table uses the design asa border, and the chairs have a part of the design painted on the backs. I made the table, using a metal base and.a round wooden top I bought at a beilding supply store. 1 bought the chairs al a garage sale, painted them, and re-covered the seats.
