To Whom It May Concern:
While writing a recommendation letter for Ms. Caitlin Fredricks is an easy task, it is also a
bittersweet job. I have been blessed to be an elementary and middle school teacher for the past eight
years, with the last year teaching closely with Ms. Fredricks at All Saints Regional Catholic School
in Glen Cove, New York. Teaching with Ms. Fredricks has expanded my appreciation for academic
and technological excellence. I have observed closely the commitment and passion that Ms.
Fredricks brings to school every day and the uncompromising determination that Ms. Fredricks has
to provide a complete education for all students at All Saints Regional.
Prior to transitioning careers, I spent 23 years working as a global investment executive for an
international investment company; then spent five humbling and magical years as a "stay-at-home"
dad for three terrific boys and my very successful and loving wife. I preface my comments with the
aforementioned so that the reader understands the prism through which I write this sincere
recommendation.
Ms. Fredricks is, above all, an honest, forthright, communicative and fair teacher whose singular goal
is to provide a safe and high achieving learning environment for the students attending All Saints
Regional. Ms. Fredricks manages the classroom with a focused academic agenda and expects to be
held accountable for the success of all students. As you can imagine, Ms. Fredricks' task is
challenging and requires the skills of an effective leader who can think strategically and implement
successfully. And this was all accomplished while teaching middle school math and regents algebra.
Serving as a middle school teacher not only requires the vision, organizational skills and
determination to prepare students for high school, it also requires an effective communicator; one
that listens, thinks and leads by example. Ms. Fredricks' presentations to parents, teachers and
students are always prepared, thoughtful and confident. More importantly, there is an individual
strategy that meets the needs of each student and includes appropriate follow up. This skill of
effective and strategic communication is critical in any environmentcertainly is required in an
academic environment and Ms. Fredricks is always prepared.
In conclusion, Ms. Fredricks is a teacher who understands the uniqueness of each student. She
effectively leverages her organization and communication skills to create a healthy, yet demanding,
academic life for students. Ms. Fredricks accomplishes this with humility and confidence while
never underestimating the importance of hard work.
