Student Example Evaluation (224-231)

Analysis- On the analysis, I decided to give the writer a B due to the fact that
she could be more specific while describing the genres. Stating the facts about the
Joseph Shapiros NPR radio news story and the University of Arizona MAV
brochure was perfect, she just needed to give more detailed about the two genres.
For example she could quote some of the stuff that was mentioned on the radio, as
well as she could quote some words from the brochure. By adding some quoting

to the analysis that will reinforce the analysis.

Supporting Details- The writer gave some details about the genres, but she was
repetitive in the examples. Therefore I decided to give her an A in the
Supporting Details section included detail about both of the genres to make the
analysis stand out. The author gave some detail on what was stated in the MAVs
brochure for example it was mentioned that it was unprofessionally done
therefore we can infer that it is a document that is not being used for business of
professional stuff. As well as she mentioned that the brochure is mainly targeting
college student to join the group. Also the writer stated how in the radio news
show was more professionally done and that elderly people tend to listen to that
station. The details were good as I mentioned to help the reader understand but
she could have quoted a little more from both of the genres.

Comparison and Contrast- In my opinion the writer did an outstanding job in

comparing and contrasting the two genres and for that I will give her an A in
that section which help me as a reader understand better the difference between
the two without getting confused throughout the reading. The reader can identify
what the writer is talking about due to the fact that since the beginning the stated
the differences were set between the University of Arizona MAVs brochure and

the radio news story from Joseph Shapiros NPR.

Writing Fluency- Personally I think the writer demonstrates skillful writing
fluency therefore Ill give an A for this section. The writer can demonstrate
throughout the analysis to keep the same idea to make the paper understandable.
As I mentioned before the descriptions about each genre is good therefore the

essay is clear and to the point.

APA and Documentation- In this section Ill be giving the writer a C due to the
fact that she did not mention any citing within the text.
