How will the needs of students with various needs (ELL, digital
learners, gifted learners, RtI students, and special education students)
be addressed during and after each stage in the formative
assessment process?
The groups of learners in this lesson are all ELL students, some with
special needs. To accommodate all students needs and to make the
information accessible to all students the learning is scaffolded to the
students level. Students are assessed at the start of a lesson to
identify where they are at in their understanding of a topic. Teaching is
adjusted to meet the students where they are at. We look at visuals,
videos, learn vocabulary and read books to master concepts. When
students demonstrate a lack of knowledge or understanding, we
explore a topic further to build language and understanding.

Describe the specific learning activities and process for

implementation. What SRS is being used? How should students access
the SRS tool? How will students be introduced to the tool? Will the
SRS be used in any other way beyond formative assessment
(attendance, engagement, rewards, etc.)?
The students will use a variety of technology throughout the unit. We
will be using Post It Plus for students to share their background
knowledge at the beginning of the unit. Students are already familiar
with how to work with this program. After we have done some
exploration, the students will create a chatterpix to meet their second
target. We will use Ipads, which I will have pre-loaded with their
helpers image and I will model how to create. We will also respond to
a poll on the ipads, to vote for our favorite community helper. This is
merely to engage the students. If the students are able to expand on
why the helper is their favorite, it will serve as formative assessment
as well. Near the end of the unit, we will create a goformative

assessment on Ipads. I will model how to use this tool as well, and will
set up the logins ahead of time for students. I will model each tool and
its appropriate use, and have ipads ready for students since this will
be a kindergarten unit. These tools will be engaging for the students
because they are new, and exciting. These tools will also allow the
students to demonstrate their knowledge and allow me to assess their
ability to meet targets and standards.

Reflect on how the lesson will improve the learning environment for
students. How will it improve the retention of important material and
learning processes?

The lesson has not taken place yet, due to spring break. However, I
presume that the technology pieces will excite and engage the
students, and create a positive environment. Visuals and the students
using higher level thinking to demonstrate their knowledge will
students retain the material and secure their understandings.

Describe other ways you can incorporate technology learning into your
classroom.
Students can watch videos about community helpers.
We can use google earth to look at our community.
We will create a digital book at the end of the unit, to summarize our
learning.
