The teacher will read the story, Phases of the Moon out loud to the kids. After we
talk about the phases of the moon, we will use Oreos to create the phases of the
moon.
A review of a previous
lesson/activity
By reading Phases of the Moon and creating the different phases of the moon
using Oreos, the kids are learning through their sense and learning
characteristics of the moon.
15-20 minutes
After reading Phases of the Moon and using Oreos to create the phases with the
chocolate and cream, the children will be able to tell the different phases of the
moon and be able to recognize them when they see the moon outside.

Through this lesson, the children will learn new vocabulary words, some Tier II

kids will pull it out and we will read it together as a read aloud.

Discuss new vocabulary words during the story.
Read the story again.
Review the five phases of the moon and their characteristics.
Give the kids each five Oreos.
Ask them to try and make the different phases of the moon using their
popsicle stick. When they are done, they can eat their phases of the moon
