Animal studies reflection
When writing about this essay on the topic animal studies I found it very hard to start the
essay because I didnt know what topic I was going to write about. I finally chose the topic
animal slaughtering which it relates to animal studies and since this was an argumentative essay I
had to choose a side which made it even harder because you need to choose a side on which you
are and have an argument. My argument was that animal slaughtering is a torture to animals and
shouldnt happen at all. When revising my essay I changed my hook, thesis statement, body
paragraphs, and counterargument. The way I had started my hook was a with a question which
can be very vague because at ma y times the question will not interest the reader and the reader
will not finish reading the essay. Instead I started my essay with a statement of how many
animals are being slaughtering in the U.S per year. I thought this hook will get the reader
attention since its a fact and will grab the reader attention and want to learn more about the
topic. I decided to change my thesis statement as well four the reason that I wasnt very clear
with the topics I was going to be talking about in my body [paragraphs which that tied up to the
body paragraphs changing as well since they had to go along with the subtopics. My
counterargument wasnt long enough and wasnt giving enough information from the other point
of view, I was talking more about my view point. I decided to talk more about the other view
point since thats what makes up a counterargument and add three to four sentences talking about
my point. When I first started writing this essay the topic didnt really interest me I think that is

why I had a harder time developing it after writing a paper about animal slaughtering I now tend
to think of where our meat is coming from.
