(The before, during, and after the lesson, e.g., Engagement/Opening, Procedures, Guided Practice,

Before we get started we will take a little pretest so I can see where each child is at this will not be for a
grade just my own personal benefit then we will watch a fun video from YouTube about parts of a sentence to
get the students more excited about what we are about to learn. Then I will use a PowerPoint for the class
and I to go over the parts of a sentence with the theme of Eye I see the different parts of a sentence. We
will do 2 days for the first two and the other 2 the other two days and on the fifth day we will have our
activity and the following week we will go to the Zoo to help us tie the whole unit together.
I see 00 the different parts of a sentence
I see a capital letter at the beginning of my sentence.
I see lowercase letters throughout my sentence.
I see finger spaces between my words.
I see punctuation at the end of my sentence.
5. Instructional Strategies
Teacher approach to helping students achieve the learning objectives (goals) and meet their needs
The class is going to play pin the tail on the parts of the sentence and Im going to give them the
part then they will place it where it needs to go. We may split up into teams and whichever team
does the best will get a special reward.

6. Learning Activities
Opportunities provided for students to develop knowledge and skills of the learning objectives (goals)
Each student will make their own crazy glasses to put on when it comes time to look at the
different parts of a sentence.
We will use pipe cleaners and glue.

7. Resources and Materials

List of materials used in the planning of and during the instruction of the lesson

Smart board
Silly glasses
Poster board
Pin the tail on the parts of the sentence

8. Technology
Instructional and/or assistive technology incorporated into the lesson to enhance instruction and student
learning
I will be using the smart board to model the sentences then we will play games on the smart board to help
the students understand.

9. Differentiation/Accommodations/Modifications/Increase in Rigor
To help meet the needs of all learners, learning differences, cultural and language differences, etc.
All of my students speak English but for my students that need special modifications this will be done before
we come to class. Along with those students having an aid to be there to help them.
10. Classroom Management
Strategies consistent with the learning needs of the lesson that also meet student behavior needs to help
keep students on task and actively engaged
Students will be involved during the whole lesson so they must be using their listening ears and watching
eyes so they dont miss anything.
Keeping the kids involved and helping is a big part of your classroom management

11. Extensions
Activities for early finishers that extend students understanding of and thinking about the learning
objectives (goals) by applying their new knowledge in a different way
Ill have computer games pulled up for students that finish early and need more to do. This way they are
getting something fun to do and it is also bettering their understanding.
Also ill have my students that catch on quickly to partner help with someone who is struggling to help them
both better understand the concept.

12. Follow-up to Todays Lesson

Quick activity for review or building on todays learning that will deepen student understanding and
interconnect concepts (may be incorporated tomorrow or throughout the unit)
