percent.Thenumberofmarriageshavedoubledinnumberforsamesexmarriagefrom2012to
2013anditsstillincreasingdramaticallytoday.Peopleshouldbeallowedtomarryregardlessof
theirsexualitybecausehomosexuals,bisexuals,andtransexualsarepeopletoowhodeservethe
samerightsasthosewhomareheterosexual.
Homosexualmarriagespromotesfamilystabilityandvalidateslesbian,gay,bisexual,and
transexual(LGBT)familyunits(SameSexMarriageBenefitsSocietyinManyWays).The
denialofequalmarriageisunfairtochildrenwith(LGBT)parents(SameSexMarriage
BenefitsSocietyinManyWays).Legalizinggaymarriagesupportschildren'sdevelopment
regardlessofwhomtheyreparentedby.Amarriageexpertdefinesmarriageasbeingaboutlove,
family,andcommitmentforeveryone.Humansareindividuallyandcollectivelystrongerwhen
theyaremembersofafamily.Peopleneedacompaniontotakecareofthemnotjustphysically,
butemotionallytoo.Gaysdeservetohavesomeonetopickthemupwhentheyfall.Studieshave
shownthatlegalizingsamesexmarriagesprovidesadramaticincreaseineconomicandbusiness
opportunities.Allpeopledeservestability,love,andafamily.Also,homosexualrelationships

tendtolastlongerandgaysarelesslikelytodivorce.Thedivorceratepercentageishigher
amongstheterosexualsratherthanhomosexuals.Homosexualmarriageswillincreasefamily
happinessandstability.Somesaythatchildrenneedbothamotherandafatherinordertobe
raisedintheproperway.Studieshaveshownthatthisisnotalwaysthecaseandgaymarriages
aremorestablewhichleadstoahealthierdevelopmentofthechildknowingthattheyrestable
andwillalwayshaveafamily.Extendingsocialrecognitionandlegalprotectionsofmarriagesto
samesexmarriagestrengthenseveryonesfamilies.Everyonemustabidebythesamesocial
norms.
Gaymarriagepromotesequalityandnondiscriminationinsociety.Discriminationof
homosexualscausespsychologicaldistress,socialconflict,andhealthissues.Thelegalizationof
samesexmarriageaffirmstheinherentworthinessofgaypeopleasvaluedAmericancitizens
deservingofequalrightsunderthelaw.Forcinggaypeopletobealoneweakensthefabricof
society.FifteencountriesarealreadyaheadtheUnitedStatesonlegalizinggaymarriage.Being
abletomarrypsychologicallyimpactsgaysinmanyways.Homosexualsbeingabletobridle
theirsexualityhonorstheirlove.Asoftodaythereareover500,00polyamoroushouseholdsthat
havegaycoupleslivinginthem.Somemayarguethatgaymarriagemarginalizesthosewith
traditionalviewsorthatmarriageexiststobringamanandawomantogetherashusbandand
wife.Thereisnosuchthingastraditionalmarriageandhistoryhasshownthathomosexual
relationshipshavealwaysbeenaround.LewisandClarkvisitedindiansinOregonwhoweregay
andlefttheirtribestolivetogether.BostonMarriagesorlesbianmarriageswereverycommon
backinthe19thcentury.RadclyffeHall,aBritishwriter,publishedabookin1922aboutareal
lifelesbianrelationship.Inthe1920sNewYorkCityhadanestimatedtwentygayandlesbian

samechurchesaseveryoneelsewithoutbeingjudged(SameSexMarriageFurthertheAmerican
ValuesofFreedomandEquality).Also,homosexualsshouldntberefusedtherighttomarryin

couples.TheUnitedStatesneedstoabolishantimiscegenationlaws(SameSexMarriage

Everyoneshouldbeabletomarryregardlessoftheirsexualityanddifferences.Clearly
gaymarriageshouldbeallowedinthelandofthefree.Itgoesagainstourconstitutionbynot
givinggaysthesamerightsandequalityaseveryoneelseinthiscountry.Gaysarepeopletoo
anddeservetobetreatedthesameaseveryoneelse.Thegovernmentneedstodomoretoprotect
therightsofgays.Itstimeforachange.
