Awakenings is a 1990 American

tue story of a British neurogist .
Doctor Malcolm Sayer discovers
beneficial effects of the drug L Dopa .
He is working with catatonic patients.
Doctor Sayer discovers some actions
from the patients , such as catching
the ball .
Leonard Lowe is one of the
patients . By the time , Doctor Sayer
discovers that Leonard is able to
communicate with him by using an
Ouija board . Doctor Sayer tries the
drug on Leonard . This drug makes
him completely awaken from his
catatonic state . Leonard starts a
new life . He demands to be free and
to go out whenever he wants , the
doctors refuse . Leonard starts acting

agressively . He starts move hardly

and he return to his catatonic state .
Doctor Sayer is a lonely and
unsocial person . He did not do
anything except working and doing
researches . However he is a lonely
and unsocial person , he works on
making these patients socialize with
other people . He helped them to do
what he cannot do , such as falling in
love , socialize , and dance . I liked
Doctor Sayer's charater . He showes
us how it is important to help others
and to make people happy even if
your are not happy .
