1 Financial Reporting Log Reporting Oracle Data Integrator


1.1 Intended Audience
This document is intended for individuals managing the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) environment. This document also
assumes the Source environment and the Target environment are the same.

1.2 Financial Reporting Log Reporting Oracle Data Integrator Overview


An Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) package named FRLogs has been created which processes / parsed Financial Reporting Log files into a SQL Server
table, for reporting purposes.

Desktop Connection.

appropriate environment and then connect.

local administrator privileges or the privileges
to create a Shared Folder. Once this has
occurred, select OK.

server, select Start -> All Programs -> Oracle
-> Oracle Data Integrator -> Topology
Manager.

After keying the appropriate username /


password, select OK.

View -> Physical Architecture if Physical
Architecture is not selected.

right click. From the context menu, select
Insert Agent.

Key the agent information as similar to the


right replacing Name and Host with the ODI
Server Name. Once this has occurred select
OK.

From the menu bar, select Windows -> Show


View -> Logical Architecture.

If an agent is not listed, select Agents then


right click. From the context menu, select
Insert Logical Agent.

Duplicate the image on the right replacing


Name with the ODI Server name and the
Physical Agent with the ODI Server Name.
Note in this example the Context is SND
which represents the SND environment.
Please select the appropriate context for the

environment you are working in. Once this is


done, select Apply and then OK.
Select Start and then type SERVICES.MSC.

select the Log On tab.

Update the Log on as: account from Local


System Account to the service account for
this environment. Select This account then
key the appropriate account and password.
Once this has occurred select Apply. Pops
may occur which are the third and fourth
images in this row. Select OK if this dialog
boxes occur and also select OK to close the
OracleDI Agent Properties dialog box.

The Log On As should show the service


account keyed.

Select the OracleDI Agent and then right click


and choose Restart from the context menu.

After the agent has restarted, select File ->


Exit from the menu bar.

Select Start -> All Programs -> Oracle ->
Oracle Data Integrator ->
Designer.

When the Security Repository Connections


dialog box renders, select OK.

Select and expand Technologies -> File and


then select TXT_FRLOGS.

The file technology has two Data Servers:


Intentionally Left Blank.
TXT_FRLOGS and TST_SQLLOGS. The
TXT_FRLOGS represents the location of the
logs of the FR server and the SQLLOGS
represents the location on the SQL Server
server where new and changed log files are
copied to for the bulk import process.
Select and expand TXT_FRLOGS. Then double
click the Physical Schema. Note each Data
Server has only Physical Schema at this time.

The Directory (Schema) is

the shared created based on document,

The directory (Work Schema) is
SGRHYPWEBSND which represents the FR
Server. When migrating from SND to another
environment, the server name should be
updated as appropriate. Please select OK.

In this example the server is sgrhypsqlsnd


and the user is FRLOGS. Note the default
database for user, FRLOGS, is FRLOGS. When
migrating please have the DBA set the default
database for the user account to FRLOGS.
The server name would be updated when
migrating from environment to environment.
Once this is done select the JDBC tab.

Part of the JDBC Url is the SQL Server name


which in this example is sgrhypsqlsnd. When
migrating from one environment to anther
environment please update the server name
as needed. One this is done, select Test.

After a Successful Connection, select OK. If


the connection is not successful, verify /
update the JDBC Url and Server (Data Server)
on the Definition tab and repeat the Test
until successful.

backed up and restored from one

purposes. Change should not be needed
during a migration.

project with all objects visible. To process
the FRLogs can individual can either process
the FRLog package or scenario. Note if any
changes are made to the objects in this
package then the scenario should be
regenerated. Also each object with respect
to Designer has a version which is a backup
version and represents the state of the object
to date.

Select File -> Export -> Work Repository to
export this repository to a XML file which can
be imported into another environment.

Select Export to zip file and either key / select


a directory and filename. Once this is done
select OK.

The BackupType should be Full and the


Destination should be Disk. The Destination
in this example is D:\Program Files\Microsoft
SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER
\MSSQL\Backup\FRLogs.bak. Once this is
done select OK.

Once the backup is complete, select OK.

Copy the following files:


MasterRepository.zip, WorkRepository.zip,
and FRLogs.bak to the target server.
Log into the target SQL Server. Once this is
done, select Databases and then right click.
From the context menu, select Restore
Database.
