8. CULVERTS.

8.1. CULVERTS SHALL BE LAID ON WELL


COMPACTED MATERIAL TO THE ENGINEERS

CONTAINS LARGE BOULDERS OR ROCK.
8.2. MINIMUM FILL ON CULVERT ROOF SLAB SHALL
BE 300mm. BACKFILLING SHALL BE CARRIED
OUT IN EVEN LAYERS NOT EXCEEDING 150mm.
8.3. TWO COATS OF BITUMINOUS PAINT SHALL BE
APPLIED TO THE CULVERT JOINTS BOTH
INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY. THE FIRST
COAT SHALL BE APPLIED BEFORE ASSEMBLY
AND THE SECOND COAT AFTER ASSEMBLY.
