Rationale:

Objectives:

The students will learn concepts that help them build upon their
reading skills. The small group will provide them with more
personalized instruction and guidance. In the end the students will
be able to have a better understanding of reading and will grow as
a reader.
A.) The students will be able to define, recognize and use
adjectives with 85% accuracy, by participating in the
Nearpod presentation.
B.) The students will be able to define and identify the main
idea in reading passage with 85% accuracy, by participating
in the Nearpod presentation.
C.) The students will be able to define and identify the main
idea in reading passage with 85% accuracy, by participating
in the Nearpod presentation.

4.W.6.1c Adjectives/ Adverbs Writing sentences using relative


adverbs (e.g., where, when) and explaining their functions in the
sentence.
The students are able to use their Ipads and follow along with the
presentation. They will be able to turn in their answers and discuss
the correct answer as a whole group. This feedback will give the
students an opportunity to understand their mistakes. The whole
group instruction will help the students work together to
understand the objective being taught. The small group instruction
will allow the students to better grasp the objective. This lesson
includes music, independent work, direct instruction, indirect
instruction and reinforcement of content.
Group A
In this small group we will be learning more about adjectives. The
students will use their IPad to complete the nearpod activity. We

will start the adjective presentation as a class. They will complete


the multiple activities that are planned in the presentation. This
lesson includes group discussion, independent work, extended
response and hands on learning.
Group B
In this small group we will be learning more about the main idea of
stories. The students will use their IPad to complete the nearpod
activity. We will start the presentation as a group. They will
complete the multiple activities that are planned in the
presentation. This lesson includes group discussion, independent
work, extended response and hands on learning.
Group C
In this small group we will be learning more about the main idea of
stories. The students will use their IPad to complete the nearpod
activity. We will start the presentation as a group. They will
complete the multiple activities that are planned in the
presentation. This lesson includes group discussion, independent
work, extended response and hands on learning.

Assessment

I will use nearpod questions as the assessment to see if the


students understand the concept. The data will be collected on my
nearpod account and I can review that information at any time.
