To whom it may concer:
1am writing on behalf of Lindsay Hand. Lindsay has been student teaching in my Autistic Support
Classroom at Blue Mountain Elementary East for the past eight weeks. She is completing her Teaching
Certification in Elementary Education and Special Education, While in my room she also began to pursue a
Certificate for Middle Level Language Arts. Lindsay worked closely with myself, four support staff, the
‘occupational therapist, and speech therapist. She also collaborated with the Life Skills Support Teacher and
Paitan Consultants. Additionally, Lindsay displayed a natural ability to manage and provide instruction for
the school day. Lindsay modeled her day after the picture schedule that was currently in place, while
implementing techniques and strategies learned through Kutztown University. Two qualities essential for an
Autistic Support setting are perseverance and dedication. It is evident Lindsay possesses these
characteristics. Lindsay is very goal oriented, but was aware of her students’ social, educational, and
emotional development.
Lindsay would go above and beyond for any organization that she would work for. It is part of her
work ethic and her daily belief system. While student teaching, Lindsay also provided instruction for her
local CCD students and worked at Rita’s Italian Ice. This drive to achieve and lear is a testament of who
Lindsay is and how seriously she takes her work. 1 highly recommend Lindsay for any position that she is
interested in obtaining and would be more than happy to speak on her behalf. I can be reached at 570-366-
