Wetland Site Assessment Lab

INTRODUCTION - water quality assessments are done on wetland site to

determine their usefulness as a habitat or its environmental soundness determining
how an area might be used best.
HYPOTHESIS- If we conduct a Water Quality Assessment Test , we can
compare various sites as to their usefulness as a habitat or environmental
soundness. These tests will include; Dissolved oxygen, Temperature, turbidity
,salinity, PH, Riparian Vegetation, Aquatic Plant Cover, and the amount of macro
Invertebrates present.

ANALYSIS- It was concluded that site 5 was the dirtiest due to its high
turbidity rating. Site 3 would be the best place to stock fish because of its
cleanliness and average numbers in other areas it would sustain life well. Site 2
would be the best place to swim due its cleanliness and Clearwater. I feel the
turbidity test gave us the most useful information because it told if the water was
clean and clear . I determined that the cause of high dissolved oxygen in site 5 was
the fact that animals ate the plant covering. I felt the temperature test was not
needed as the water temperature did not vary much
