YoucaneasilycreateagradienteffectusingtheGradientToolinAdobePhotoshopCS5.ChoosetheGradienttoolandclickand
dragacrossanimageareatocreateagradientinthedirectionandlengthofthemousemotion.Ashortdragcreatesashort
gradientalongdragproducesasmoother,longergradient.
FromtheOptionsbar,youalsocanchoosethetypeofgradientyouwant:Linear,Radial,Angle,Reflected,orDiamond.
Asadefault,gradientsarecreatedusingthecurrentforegroundandbackgroundcolors.ClickthearrowontheGradientbuttonon
theOptionsbartoassignadifferentpresetgradient.
Tocreateagradient,followthesesteps:
1.ChoosetheGradienttoolandclicktheGradientEditorbuttonontheOptionsbar.
TheGradientEditordialogboxappears.Atthebottomofthegradientpreview,youseetwoormorestops,whichiswherenew
colorsareinsertedintothegradient.Theylooklikelittlehouseicons.Usethestopsontopofthegradientslidertodetermine
theopacity.
2.ClickastopandclickthecolorswatchtotherightofthewordColortoopentheColorPickerandassignadifferent
colortothestop.
3.Clickanywherebelowthegradientpreviewtoaddmorecolorstops.
4.DragacolorstopofftheGradientEditordialogboxtodeleteit.
5.Clickthetopofthegradientpreviewtoassigndifferentstopswithvaryingopacity.
