How does racism work and How can we fight is the Essential question and racism

works in many ways such as stereotypes and using the N word . To stop racism and ended it
we need to talk about the types of racism and see how we can stop it. For example the 3 types of
racism are Institutional racism which is the use of social structure which actual promotes racism
such as historical, Systemic racism which is also the same as Individual racism which is racism
which includes not hiring a certain person because of their skin tone or failing to promote
someone because of their skin tone but individual racism can also come in these forms racial
prejudicial, racial discrimination , same races racism and even reverse racism. Stereotypes is
another big part of what racism is and what we need to do to stop it if you do not know what
stereotypes are they are a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image of a particular type of
person or thing. For example a type of stereotype you may of heard is that all African American
children are born into a house without a father. Stereotypes play a big party in racism and needs
to be stop because without stereotypes people dont already have that negative mindset of an
person before getting to know that person. The next thing to stop racism is to use the N word
less in our community because it brings back some much negative reminders about slavery.

How can individuals or groups organize is the essential question. Well individuals can
create and organize groups by both having a strong agreement about something that they do not
like. This has happened multiple times in history for example the National Association of the
Advancement of Colored People or better know as the NAACP. The NAACP is one

organization which was created during the 20th century struggle for freedom and equality in
springfield, Illinois. Another example of individuals or groups organizing together is the Civil
Rights movement where a group of African Americans came together to fight against Jim Crow
law which was unfair and very racist.

How can activism be spread ? this essential question is unique because in order to
understand how to spread activism you need to understand what activism is and why it is so
important.Activism is the policy or acting of using vigorous campaigning to bring about the
political or social change, which this information you can understand a little bit about how
activism can be spread. One big part that can spread activism is non violence . Which has work
many times such as the civil moments and the NAACP.

How has Brown University been a place for activism since the 1960s? Brown
University has been a place where many activism has been taken at the school has a lack of
students and teacher diversity. For example in 1968 black students at brown walk out demanding
more students diversity and more of an inclusive environment. This is just one of many activism
that brown has face because of their racism problem. One way that students at Brown are
showing activism

In conclusion to summary the answer for each essential question is that we need to stop
using stereotypes to stop racism, Civil Rights movements and the NAACP is a great way of
individuals starting a organisation, In order for activism to spread we need to what it is and what
is the main part of activism and lastly Brown University is a place for activism because students
there have started being a part of the activism movement for more diversity.
