I am writing this letter of recommendation for Cynthia Alexandre. It has been my privilege to work with
Mrs. Alexandre at Roger Williams Middle School in Providence during the Academic Year 2015 2016.
Mrs. Alexandre is an exceptional school librarian and collaborator. She organized the school Book Fair,
created a monthly newsletter with academic resources for teachers and was instrumental to the success
of my students on their 13 Colonies Summative Assessment Project.
Mrs. Alexandre and I discussed the project and the research requirements. This Summative Assessment
Project was a multi-faceted assignment that required research and a work cited page. Each student was
required to create a brochure about their assigned colony using Microsoft Publisher based on their
research. Before the students began this assignment, Mrs. Alexandre created a presentation for the
students on how to begin a research project and explained the importance of evaluating on-line sources.
She set up a webpage for my 7th grade social studies classes with specific links for the students to use.
Mrs. Alexandre also educated the students on how to use Publisher. She assisted the students in the
creation of their brochure by teaching them how to import pictures and images.
Mrs. Alexandre worked in partnership with me on this project and created positive relationships with
the students. But most importantly, she engaged students in high quality academic learning.
Ms. Alexandre understands the need of our students. This was evident when she took the initiative to
open the Library to our students before school. This was a wonderful opportunity to reinforce positive
behavior and rewards to our students. She offers invaluable support to the Roger Williams community.
It is has been my honor to collaborate with Mrs. Alexandre this year. She is a dedicated professional
with superior organization skills who is worthy of your consideration for a position. Based on my
