Method Grind up the tablets. Make a solution of 100ml water, a scoop of the powder and
Methyl Orange indicator. Stir so the tablet is dissolved. Fill the burette with HCl. Add a
constant small amount of HCL until the solution turns pink. If the solution is pink for an entire
minute, note the new level of the burette. Repeat this process with different tablets.
Risk Assessment Care should be taken handling the acid as it is corrosive. Move glass
equipment carefully as it is fragile and can easily break.
Fair Test The same amount of water should be used each time. The same type of acid
should be used each time. The same volume of tablet should be used each time.

Conclusion
The Rennies P tablets are the most effective as they managed to neutralize the highest
amount of acid. The Rennies - S tablets are the least effective as they neutralized the lowest
amount of acid.
