In the novel The Great Gatsby the author F. Scott Fitzgerald is

conveying that the wealthy class, old money is able to get away with
anything and feel no remorse for their actions. Fitzgerald is conveying
this by the characters endings and actions throughout the book.
Many readers of The Great Gatsby would say that those who are
old money who live in East Egg are unfair, corrupt, and
materialistic. (Hacht online) those who are old money create
destruction to benefit themselves. For example Tom Buchanan who
plotted to have Jay Gatsby killed by using George Wilson who lived in
the valley of ashes. Tom was indirectly responsible for Gatsbys death
because he uses Wilsons hatred and jealousy again Gatsby (Telgen
online). Tom did everything to lead Wilson to Gatsby, Now if youll let
me have that name again correct.(fitzgerald 148). After everything
Tom had caused he decided to leave East Egg without feeling any
remorse. Tom Buchanans wife, Daisy Buchanan also plotted to have
Gatsby killed they were conspiring together. (Fitzgerald 153). After
plotted she hides behind Tom when Gatsby is in danger. (Telgen
Online). Daisys whole world revolves around money money makes
everything beautiful, even if it is not. (Telgen Online). After everything
she went through with Gatsby without any remorse she decided to

leave East Egg and not attend Gatsbys funeral. Tom and Daisy have
created a mess but that didnt affect them in anyway.
Jordan Baker who is a childhood friend of Daisy Buchanan is part
of the wealthy class in The Great Gatsby. Jordan had a love affair with
Nick Carraway throughout the book. Jordan Baker was well known
because she was a professional golfer. Throughout the book Nick learns
to have confidence in her, but later finds out that she was being
hypocritical about their love affair and that she cheated on her major
golf tournament to win. Later Nick learns that Jordan Baker likes to
dispose of people (Telgen online) Nick experienced it firsthand. Jordan
Baker did anything she had to do to get her way.
Many readers would say that those who are new money who live
in West Egg were, fair, relatively innocent, unsophisticated (Hacht
online). Opposite from those who live in East Egg. James Gatz or Jay
Gatsby lived in West Egg who became rich by his criminal affairs.
Gatsby is in love with Daisy Buchanan and was determined to do
anything and everything for her. After Daisy commits murder Gatsby
decided to take the rap for her to protect her. Although Gatsby was
trying to be the good guy in the situation his ending was not what he
deserved. Gatsbys murder was plotted by Tom and Daisy Buchanan
and after everything he did for Daisy she didnt show up to his funeral
and without resentment, that Daisy hadnt sent a message or a
flower. (Fitzgerald 183)

All the wealthy characters in the book, The Great Gatsby had
their bad decisions. Gatsby did everything he had to do to get wealthy.
Jordan Baker did what she thought she needed to do to get what she
wanted. Although everyone elses actions in the book seem like
something small compared to Tom and Daisy Buchanans action,
plotted to have a man killed, felt no remorse for their actions and lastly
were able to pick up everything and just leave their mess behind and
let someone else deal with it. Old money will always be able to get
away with anything and come back to their money like nothing ever
happened.
