Forced flow circulation of cold helium is

accomplished by Cold Circulating Pump (CCP).


CCP has to be designed for two functional
requirements, (i) generate desired pressure
head to overcome the system/application
pressure drop and (ii) provide required mass
flow rate to keep application temperature
below certain values (typically below 6 K).
The design methodology for the CCP involves
many assumption and empirical correlation
at first stage [1]. The first stage results thus
obtained can be further refined to achieve best
performance through the performance analysis.
The experimental data and empirical correlation
are very useful to achieve the best performance,
however,such datafor the CCP at 4 K helium
temperature level are rarely available; therefore,
a test of the CCP is highly recommended
