Event Overview
The United States Army Reserve Competitive
Marksmanship Program was invited to participate in
South Africas 2016 National Rifle Match by the event's
governing body, the South African Combat Rifle
Association. This event marks the first time in 20 years
the USARCMP has competed outside of
North America.

A team of nine Soldiers from the USARCMP Combat Team were selected to
compete. Each Soldier represents a different command within the U.S Army Reserve.

The USAR trained and competed with Soldiers, Police, and Civilians from
South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, and New Zealand.

The competition consisted of rapid, snap, sustained and


run down matches from 400 to 25 meters. USAR Team
members competed with as-issued rifles and optics.

Overall Results
Team Awards:
1st and 2nd Place- Falling Plates Team Match
1st Place- Unit Team Match
3rd Place- International Team Match
Individual Awards:
2nd place- Off-Hand Match
3rd Place- Mixed Grill Match
7 Team Members in Top 100 Match

Summary of Events
The USARCMP has once again earned the respect and
camaraderie of our international allies and proven that it can
compete and win on the world stage.
Most importantly, the Team was able to test and validate the
marksmanship techniques it instructs to Soldiers throughout
the U.S. Army Reserve in preparation for global combat
operations.
