Imagineaworldwherewenolongertalktooneanotherbecausewearentcapableof
doingso.Technologyhasinfluencedourlivesinvariouswaysfromhowwecommunicateday
todaytodiscoveringthingsaboutspace.Notlongago,peopleusedtodothingsthatmachines
nowdo.Withtheincreasingadvancesoftechnology,ithasbecamemoreefficientandtherehas
beenmanymorediscoveriesandbreakthroughs.Eventhough,technologyhashelpedwith
discoveringspace,findingcures,andwithdaytodayactivities,itdamagesourrelationships
ratherthanconnectsusandmakesusmorealone.
Poemsarelikeablankcanvaswheresomeonecanwritehowheorshefeelsinacreative
way.Onetopicapoemcanbeaboutistechnologyandhowitmakesusmissoutonexperiences
andmakesusmorealone.Mypoemsimaginedaudienceareadults,whoreadliterary
magazines,andenglishteachers,whoteachthecurriculumandstudents,whoaretaughtthe
curriculum.Theneedsofbothadultsandteachersaremetbecausetheywillbeconcernedabout
howtheirtechsavvychildrenandstudentsarecomparedtohowtheywerewhentheywere
young.Bothadultsandteachershadjoyfulchildhoodswheremostoftheirmemorieswere
createdfromplayingoutsidewithkidstheirownage.Theneedsofthestudentsarealsomet
becauseteacherswillhelpstudentsthinkabouttheirpoorhabitsandwillgivethemachanceto

readertoremembertheverses.Thepoemissetinthefuturewheresomeoneislookingbackat
theirlifeandalltheyrememberistechnologyandregrettinghowtheirlifeturnedouttobe.It
showsthedirectionthatwerepointingtowards,aworldoftechnologyandnonature.Inthis
case,thispoemeffectivelyreachesmanypeopleinaclearandstraightforwardwaytotakeaction
oftheirlivesandtoenjoyourcurrentrelationships.
Thegoalofanyadvertisementistoencouragecertainpeopletoattendorbuysomething.
Thepurposeofthisparticularadvertisementistoencouragefuturecollegefreshmantocomeon
campusandmeetpeoplefacetofaceratheronaschoolapp.Italsoshowsaglimpseofthe

newschoolyear.Inaddition,theywillhavetheopportunitytomeetnewpeople,makefriends,
andmaybefindaroommate.Thegenreoftheadvertisementrequiresmemorableormotivational
textorimagestomakepeoplearrivetothisevent.Thisadvertisementalsohasexclamation
markstomakestudentsexcitedtoshowuptothiseventandtonotstressovertheimportant
reasonstoshowingup.Thisadvertisementreachescollegestudentsinasimplewaytomake

times.
Memesareasimpleandcleverwaytodeliveratruemessagethroughhumor.The
imaginedaudienceisanyonewhousessocialmediawebsites,suchasfacebook.Thismemeisa
greatwaytodeliverthemessagetostopconstantlyusingtechnology.Theneedsofthistech
savvygenerationaremetbecausetheyunderstandhowmuchtimetheyspendontechnology.
Thismemeismeanttomakepeoplewhoareaddictedtotechnologytoreflectontheirlifeand
relationships.Thegenreofthememerequiressimplevocabularytodeliveratothepoint

Technologyhaschangedourlivesdrasticallywithinthefewyearsofitsexistence.We
cannolongercommunicatebecausewestrugglewithourdaytodayrelationships.Phonesno
longerconnectusliketheyaremeanttobuthavesocialmediawebsitesthatcontainwallsofour
fakepersonalitiesandqualitiesthatwenolongerpossessbecauseoftechnologysexistence.We
needtohavemoreeventsliketheAcceptedStudentsadvertisementtoencouragepeopletomeet
othersofflineandweneedtohavemorepostsofmemesandmeaningfulimagestospreadthe
messagetolimittheuseoftechnology.Wehavebeennevermorealoneandhaveneverbeen
disconnectedbeforeasnow.Ifwecontinueinthisdirection,wewillendupanemotionlessand
lonelysocietyandwewillnolongerbeabletocommunicatewithoneanother.
