Dear Parent/Guardian:
As the school year draws to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being an integral part of your childs success
at William Paca Middle School. This year all students will be taking final/Regents exams in all core subject areas. These tests are
designed to ensure that students have a comprehensive understanding of all concepts presented this year. Furthermore, it is our hope
that students will note the strengths of their yearly academic performance, as well as areas in which they need to continue studying
over the summer break. All final exams will count toward the class final average as follows:
Grade 6 Final Exams
Grade 7 Final Exams
Grade 8 Final Exams
All students who are taking Regents exams will not be permitted to bring cell phones or any other type of electronic device into the
school on the days they are taking a Regents exam.
This is in compliance with the State Education Departments regulations for Regents administration which states that students may not
use any communication device while taking a state exam. All students will go through a check point at the front doors before the
exam. If a student is found to be in possession of a cell phone or any electronic device, it will be confiscated and will only be returned
directly to the individuals parent by an administrator. Students will be permitted to use the student phones in the grade level offices if
there should be a need. We thank you in advance for your strict adherence to this very important Regents examination procedure.
It is important to note that if a student misses a final or Regents exam, it will be averaged in as a 0. Students will be able to take
make-up final exams as noted on the testing schedule if extenuating circumstances exist. If your child needs to make-up a final exam,
please contact their Assistant Principals office. If a student misses a Regents Exam, s/he will need to enroll in summer school and
take the exam in August.
The schedule for the administration of these exams is on the back of this letter. Students taking AM exams will take the regular bus to
school and arrive home early. Students taking PM exams must be out at the bus stop 45 minutes prior to their noon arrival. Please be
advised that breakfast will be served June 13th-23rd. Lunch will not be served on any half days, so be sure your child has eaten before
arriving to school.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 874-1414.
Sincerely,
Michele Gode, Ed.D.
