Former Disney star and American sweetheart Demi Lovato spiraled into a
path of destruction.

Demi Lovato embraced her natural beauty in a no-makeup selfie. She wanted others to
have confidence in themselves and not go down the same path that she went down.

Demi was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 20, 1992. She was born
to Dianna Lovato, a country music recording artist and Dallas Cowboys
Cheerleader and Patrick, an engineer and musician.

Demi started off her acting career as a child actress on the show Barney and Friends.

In 2010, Demi's drug abuse became noticeable. She took line after line of
Cocaine when she was just 17 years young. She was not able to thirty minutes
without this addictive drug. She was psychologically dependent on it. She would
smuggle it, even on planes. She was facing serious drug abuse. Demi also was
facing alcoholism and would often do binge drinking.

7.5 million people have used cocaine once. The word cocaine refers to the drug in a
powder form or crystal form. The powder is usually mixed with substances such as corn
starch, talcum powder and/or sugar or other drugs such as procaine (a local anesthetic)
or amphetamines. Extracted from coca leaves, cocaine was originally developed as a
painkiller.

Demi spent 3 months in rehab in 2010 for drug abuse, substance abuse,
overdose, bulimia, and self-harm.
During rehab, her relationships with certain people depended on her further
choices. Her illicit drug use had strained her relationship with her boyfriend
Wilmer Valderrama. Many friends were lost too.
Demi released her #1 single "Heart Attack" in April of 2013.

Demi Lovato has been at the stage of sobriety and recovery for 4 years now. She
is in a healthy relationshio with Wilmer Valderrama.
Demi just released her new album Confident. This is one of her songs talking
about her previous struggles. Now, she is doing great!
