I took part in the role of a student ambassador in a college open event. The open event was a science
convention aimed at Year 11 pupils, who were in the process of applying for college. I supported a member of
staff in registering and distributing timetables to a group of pupils from Harrop Fold School. Also, I directed
visitors, who came through the front door, to either the science convention or admissions interviews. At the
end of the evening, I also supported directing school groups to designated areas to be registered and
escorted to the coaches.

Bolton Hospice
This session of volunteering involved my initial training on the ward of Bolton Hospice. I was given advice and
guidance on how to approach people who use services and procedures volunteers take when completing tasks. I
was also given information on health and safety in the hospice and how to use cleaning equipment. After being
given all the advice and guidance, I made drinks for the service users and their families.

Bolton Hospice
This session of volunteering involved me working independently on the ward of Bolton Hospice. I initially completed
a round of the ward by checking on patients and making any drinks or food they wanted. I also cleaned cups, plates
and cutlery to keep the ward tidy. For the rest of my shift, I spent the time interacting with patients and visitors and
ensuring they were all okay.
