Note: As the pictures in the service literature are used for
more than one variant, some details can differ to the
vehicle you are working with. The essential information in
the illustrations is, however, always correct.

Removal
1
Raise the cab.

WARNING
Make sure that the parking brake has been applied
and that neutral gear is selected.

Remove all electrical power by switching off the main
switch. Then disconnect the batterys negative pole.

Clean carefully around the feed pump.

Open the fuel tank filler cap to equalize pressure in the
fuel lines.

Remove the fuel line (1).


Note: Protect the ends from dirt. Plug open ends.

Remove the feed line (2).

Cut the cable ties (3). Move the wiring to one side.

Remove the feed pump (4).

Wipe up any spilled fuel.

Remove the camshaft sensor from the engine.

Check and clean contact surfaces.

Fit the new camshaft sensor using a new screw and


O-ring.

Fit the fuel feed pump (4).


Note: Use a new gasket.

Refit the wiring (3). Use new clamps.

Fit the feed line with new sealing washers (2). Torque
tighten in accordance with Function Group 20, Information
type Specifications, Specifications.

Fit the fuel line (1).

Wipe up any spilled fuel.

Replace the fuel tank cap.

Connect the negative cable and switch on the main
electrical power.

Bleed the fuel system in accordance with Function
Group 2309, Information type Repair, 23003-3 Fuel
system, bleeding.

Warm up the engine and perform a functional check
regarding possible leaks. Rectify any fault codes.

WARNING
Make sure the parking brake is applied and neutral is
selected when starting the engine with the cab tilted.

Lower the cab.
