There were many important dates in the different developments of the FBI. The FBI web
page that was a brief history of the FBI provided many important dates like when the FBI
was developed, when the FBIs lab first opened, the date of the first computer team, and
other equally significant events. This information was helpful because It helped me better
understand how recent thing all actually was. It also helped me understand the time
period I was writing about.

Many people have heard of the FBI and know that it fights crime. They have seen movies
and TV shows that involve the FBI, but not many people know the full extent and reality
of how it works. This website about the Federal Bureau of Investigation explains what it
does and the different branches of the FBI. This website was helpful because even I
didnt completely understand what the FBI did and how it worked.

The FBI didnt just start out as a fully functioning operational organization. It started out
as a small group and the crime lab only opened its doors in 1932. This website provide
useful information such as; how the lab, at first, just operated out of a single room and
had only one full-time employee. Then by 1990 the lab has grown and developed to
become an extremely large and important branch of the FBI. This website was useful
because it showed how quickly the lab had advanced.

The FBI wants to keep the people informed about it self because it is a government
organization so they try to avoid people having false assumptions about them. On the FBI
website there are many resources one of them being about the FBIs lab and the types of
services it provides. The website has links to many, very thorough expiations of all the
different services. Some examples of services that I looked at on this site were: Combined
DNA Index System (CODIS), Evidence Response Team, Photographic
Operations, Scientific Response and Analysis, Chemistry, Counterterrorism & Forensic
Science Research, and Forensic Science Communications and Archive. These were all
helpful because they provided detailed information that I knew was reliable.

The FBI has solved many famous cases and some of these cases the FBI has posted
stories about on their stories webpage. This webpage provides many iconic stories from
terrorism to civil rights crimes. This website was very entertaining, but also informative.
It didnt necessarily give factual information about how science and technology help the
FBI develop, but it did give me inspiration for some of my multigenre pieces such as the
poem, the police report, and the letter.

The science of the Forensic world developed so quickly, but painfully slowly at the same
time. It was like putting a puzzle together. At first it was just a few pieces fitting together
and developing but as more pieces came together it started to get easier to go faster and
do more, because you had bigger and bigger pieces to build off of. This website about the
forensic science timeline showed me this. This website was extremely helpful to get
information for my multimedia section of my project in which I did a timeline of the
developments of science and technology.
