Listen Closely To His Advice

01

Hello thanks for visiting my web page today, today we are going to talk about how the Lords
advice is very useful in life and that will always nourish us in any situation. His advice will
always be right and wise, like for example lets say you are new to a school and your teacher
wasnt there, and the substitute she does not know that you are new and gives you the work
the your new teacher has left for the students to work on. Since the teacher isnt there and
the substitute doesnt know what we usually do your classmates decide not to do the work,
and told you dont have to do it. Would you take their advice or still do it?
1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
3 For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and
live .
5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
Proverbs 4 :( 1-5)
King James Version

There in Proverbs God is telling us that to listen to him closely to his teachings and learn
from them do what he says and to keep them in mind. It shall be useful in our daily life. So in
the future we dont face the consequences. But, what teachings should we listen, learn, and
obey? Lets read Deuteronomy 5 :( 1-3) and see what Moses has to say.
1 And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I
speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive
this day.
Deuteronomy 5 :( 1-3)
King James Version

So Moses called the Israelites and told them the Lord our God made agreement with the
nation. He said to them that today he is to tell the laws and teachings that they must follow
so to listen carefully what he is going to say. It will not wear off and is not just for their
ancestors but for them to who are living today. This agreement is not just for the Israelites
but for us too foreigners that believe in him. Now lets read what Moses is required to tell the
Israelites and to us in Deuteronomy 5 :( 7-11) and (16-21).
7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that
is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me,
10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless
that taketh his name in vain.

16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be
prolonged , and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
17 Thou shalt not kill .
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery .
19 Neither shalt thou steal .
20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field,
or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.
Deuteronomy 5 :( 7-11), (16-21)
King James Version

In Proverbs 4: (8), God is saying that if we value his wisdom and hold them tightly that we
will receive great honors.
8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour , when thou dost embrace her
Proverbs 4 :( 8)
King James Version

If we read Psalms 119:11 & 86-88, David is worry of not showing his faith towards the
teachings and laws in public. Because of too many disagreements towards him due to what
the lord had instructed us to obey and listen. So he hid the teachings that kept him from
sinning against the Lord. Then asked God for help, his protection so that he wouldnt need to
hide from cruelty.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee
Psalms 119 :( 11)
King James Version

86 All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.
87 They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts.
88 Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
Psalms 119 :( 86-88)
King James Version

When we read Proverbs 4: 10-15, the lord tells David dont hide his laws or teachings, to
show them. To read them listen and obey like he has instructed, it will bring great pleasure in
life. This is a guide leading you to great path where you wont be block or would stumble.
Yes there will be people that will be boorish and stand in your way but you just turn from
them and keep on going.
10 Hear , O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many .
11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
12 When thou goest , thy steps shall not be straitened ; and when thou runnest , thou shalt not stumble .
13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go : keep her; for she is thy life.
14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away .
Proverbs 4 :( 10-15)
King James Version

Here in Proverb 4:20-27, God tells us again to listen carefully to everything he has to say to
never forget a single word. Knowing his teachings and laws will mean true life and good
health. Guard our thoughts because these are source of true life. Never tell lies or deceitful
in what you say, which is one of the Ten Commandments. Keep looking straight ahead you
know where you are heading, dont make the mistake of turning left or right.

20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. 24 Put away from thee a froward
mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established .
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Proverbs 4 :( 20-27)
King James Version

Now I

leave you with some questions you can answer in your own time.
Will you listen carefully to his teachings and obey his laws?
Are you willing to make the change?
Will you go straight ahead not mistake turning left or right or taking the short cut, but
always going straight to your destination?
