As cars are made over the year, the new cars have evolved so much

from how cars back then were created. Between 1896 and 1915, vehicles
werent known as cars, but were known as horseless carriages, known today
as antique vehicles. After these antique vehicles were built, in 1916 cars
produced were known as vintage vehicles. One of the antique vehicles
was the Ford Model T. The Ford Model T was the first mass-produced
automobile starting in 1913. This car was the first that an average worker
could afford. In 1916, 55 percent of the cars that were made in the world
were Model T Fords, which set a record that was never beaten. In the 1970s,
cars were scrapped almost twice as often as small trucks. In 1971, another
car that was produced was the HemiCuda convertible. Plymouth only
produced 7 HemiCuda convertibles for the 1971 production year. This car is
so rare, that there was one sold in early 2014 at the Mecum Auction for $3.5
million. The first cars steered with a lever and on LA freeways traveled at an
average speed of 60 mph. Cars that were made back then in 1999 only cost
$5,674 per year to own and operate. Lastly, the antique cars that were made
would not be considered safe for regular driving today because they lacked
seat belts, crumple zones and rollover protection.
To continue, new cars have been produced to be much better than the
cars that were made back then. The average car in the modern day has
about 30,000 parts. Most of the cars with engines fake the engine noise
through speakers because they are normally quite. Now in the U.S., it costs
$8,876 per year to own and maintain an average car. The total average
repair cost in the U.S. is $305.55, including $202.28 for parts and $103.27 for
labor. There has been an increased use in electric cars due to their popularity
and it becoming faster. In 2006, the Indy Car Series switched over to Honda
engines and since then, there have been no Indy Car engine failures. The
average fuel cost across all vehicles is 14.45 cents per mile, or about 23
miles per gallon. In June, 2013 a 1954 Mercedes-Benz W196R Formula 1 race
car sold for $30 million. Now there Non-gas or diesel options for automobiles
include hybrid cars, electric plug-in-to-charge cars, hydrogen-powered cars,
propane, and even natural gas-powered cars. In cars made today, they have
high beam lights. Automatic high-beam control doesn't merely switch
between low and high beams, but reacts by gradually increasing or lowering
the light distribution based on the distance of approaching traffic. It also
dims the high beams for sharp turns and then re-engages the high beams if
there is no approaching traffic once the turn is completed.
As you can see, between old cars and new cars there has been many
developments to improve it. Back then cars that were made in 1999 only
cost $5,674 per year to own and operate. However today, it costs $8,876 per
year to own and maintain an average car. Another difference, is that cars

today are becoming non-gas or diesel, which has opened the door to hybrids,
electric plug-in-to-charge, and hydrogen powered cars. While, back then cars
were running only gasoline and had no other options. However, between
modern and vintage cars they have a lot of similarities. Cars back then and
todays cars still run on engines that are cooled by antifreeze, powered by
octane fuel, and have four-wheel brakes. An obvious similarity, is that cars
back then and now still have the same features such as the steering wheel,
body of the car, air condition, radio station, interior seats, and engine with
advancements as the years go by.
