Demands "pension parity" for Chicago


Public Schools, meaning the state would
take on CPS' normal pension costs. The
state already pays teacher pensions for all
other school districts.

Sets the tone for upcoming session, making it clear that Dems
want a formula change. Republicans perceive this as a threat that
Dems will block any budget proposal to get a new school funding
reform.
