Initial setup of Wi-Free

for Windows 7
Follow the steps listed below to set up a PC with Windows 7 for UPC Wi-Free.

Step 1:

Right-click on the Wi-Fi icon

Step 2:

Open Network and Sharing Center

Step 3:

Click on Manage wireless network

Step 4:

Click on Add

Step 5: Choose Manually create a network profile

Step 6:

Network name is UPC Wi-Free

Choose WPA2-Enterprise security type
Click on Next

Step 7:

Click on Change connection settings

Step 8:

Choose Security tab

Click on Settings

Step 9:

Remove tick for Validate server certificate

Click on Configure

Step 10:

Remove tick for Automatically use my Windows logon name and password
(and domain if any)
Click on OK

Step 11:

Click on OK

Step 12:

Click on Advanced settings

Step 13:
Tick Specify authentication mode
Choose User authentication
Click Save credentials

Step 14:

Enter your My UPC username (usually your e-mail address) and your
Wi-Free password and click on OK

Step 15:

Click on OK

Step 16:

Click on OK

Step 17:

Click on Close

Step 18:

Click on the Wi-Fi icon

Step 19:

Click on UPC Wi-Free

Click on Connect
