process of immersion within lesson planning. The purpose of the Immersion Phase is
to help students develop a thorough understanding of the text type they will be
writing by completely surrounding them with that genre. Giving them a vision of how
their own texts may be written after viewing several high quality mentor texts.

teachers with the opportunity to assesses, provide additional instruction, and to get
immediate feedback on student learning. Compass Learning is an educational
