Students will learn how to define social policy, compare it to other approaches for promoting social welfare such as social work, and social
philanthropy. All areas will be discussed and the fundamental difference with each approach will be highlighted.

The discussion will begin with what they previously know about solving societal problems. As social workers they would have, in year one, dealt with

approaches to helping people and so the interest will be in this new approach being mentioned.

Social Media Challenge - Students will search Facebook or Instagram for any of the multiple assigned hashtags and comment one thing they learnt during the
session prior to being able to leave the class
