NSE Membership There are two ways for a holder of Engineering Degree or equivalent (HND + PGD in Engrg) to be a Corporate Member of NSE, viz:(1) The Normal Way by downloading the Membership Form from NSE website: www.nse.org.ng; submitting the completed form with supporting documents to NSE; and passing the NSE exam/interview. Please note that this is the recommended route for all Engineers and mandatory for all SPDC Engineers in SG4 and below. (2) The Mature Route with the following criteria: (i) Age - 40 years and above (ii) 15 years of engineering practice in the particular discipline (iii) Presentation of copies of Secondary, University (engineering), NYSC certificates (iv) Current CV (v) Payment of dues. COREN Registration There are also two ways for a holder of Engineering Degree or equivalent (HND + PGD in Engrg) to be registered by COREN as an Engr, viz:(1) The NSE route by becoming a Corporate Member of NSE and thereafter applying to COREN with the NSE Corporate Membership details for registration; or (2) The Direct route ie applying directly to COREN by downloading the Registration Form from COREN website: www.corenng.org; submitting the completed form with supporting documents to COREN; and passing the COREN exam/interview. Please note that the COREN registration process via the NSE route is the recommended process, regardless of individual's years of experience, as it enables the Engineer to achieve both NSE Membership and COREN registration. This process also enhances the ability of the Engineer to mentor others. Other Information Except the Registration and Annual Practising Fees for NSE and COREN, other costs, eg Conferences should go through various Line Managers for approval and payment. Closing Date for submission of NSE Forms against April 2013 is 28th February 2013 for the normal way. There is NO closing date for submission of COREN Forms NSE General Meeting in Warri holds 2nd Saturday of every month@ 9am; venue is Nigeria Society Engineers (NSE) Secretariat Effurun. NSE General Meeting in PHC holds Last Thursday of the First Month of Every Quarter @ 5pm; venue is the NSE PHC Secretariat. Water works Yard, 3 Bernard Carr Str. Port Harcourt.
