Section 2: Course Reflection


(REQUIRED) List 1-3 key learnings/outcomes for this course:
1. Learned the importance of visual design and proper construction to create
appearling visuals.
2. Learned the design concept of the Backwards Design Model and how to
properly construct for learning purposes.

(REQUIRED) List 1-3 strengths of this course:

1. The materials do a great job building an understanding on what is being done


and proper replication of the necessary assignments.
2. The class meetings were well organized and very informative. We were
provided with ample opportunity for clarification and assistance when needed.
3. The assignments were adapted well for someone such as myself who is taking
the program but is not a teacher.

List 1-3 weaknesses and/or recommendations for this course, if applicable:


1. I appreciated the creation of the GLP flyer however, I felt that it was too early in
the process to create a flyer when most of us were still feeling out the overall
concept of our project.

The creation of the Backwards Design Model really showed the importance of
providing full effort in constructing curriculum to give our students the best
opportunity to learn. The ability to observe others in their backwards design plans
also provided a different perspective on what others educators are engaging in.

The creation of the backwards design really has provided me with a new way of
thinking. Whenever I find myself engaging in any kind of training situation, I try to

look at it through the eyes of the backwards design to provide the best learning
experience.

Being fully submerged in the creation of the Backwards Design really showed what is
involved in creating proper curriculum and an effective lesson. It has really shaped
my ability to provide effective teaching and training to my students.
