Topic 1: My best friend

My best friend is a boyfriend who studied in high school. His names Tam. He is of the same age
as me. Hes not only handsome but also intelligent. He has agraceful smile. We went to school together
everyday. We take part in the same activities. We often missed class to play football and play computer
game. Although we played game a lot, we study well. Because we help each other in study. We get along
very well and I like him. Because we share happiness and sorrow with each other. Now we are living a
long way from each other, we often get in touch together.
Topic 2: My learning English
I started learning English at high school. The most interesting thing in my English class is that
the teachers are very nice. It takes me 2 hours to focus on reading, writing, speaking and listenning, such
as reading nespaper English online, listenning to music and doing my homeworks. I think listenning to
English song is the most effective ways of learning English. I like learning English because I think It is
interesting subject. It helps me widen my knowledge. Finally, learning English is not easy. I find it
difficult to listenning to the tapes or CDs. But I try my best to practice speaking. I hope I will learn
English better in the future.
Topic 3: My favourite way of relaxing
In my free time, I like surfing the Internet and chatting online for relaxation.
What I most like to do is surfing the internet in my own room.
Im most front of is chatting online with close friend.
My favourite website is Yahoo Messenger.
I usually go on the internet in the evening
I feel like reading newspapers online.
Chatting online make me feel relaxed. Reading newspapers online, I get lots of information.
Surfing the internet gives me a lot of fun.
I find surfing the internet and chatting online very amusing.
Topic 4: My memorable holiday
Last May, my family visited NhaTrang, one of the most famous beaches in Vietnam.
We arrived at the hotel at 7.30 pm.
The next morning we got up early and went to the beach to see the sunrise.
The rising sun was the most amazing thing we saw.
The sight was very beautiful. Sea water is blue. The air was fresh and cool.
At about 8.00 am, there were hundreds of people. Many people were swimming while the others
were sunbathing. The children liked building sandcastles. They had laughed and talked together. It was
very noisy.
In the afternoon, the weather was too hot. After dinner we went round the city and I bought some
souvenirs for my friends. I also bought lots of seafood.
NhaTrang was really fantastic. I wanted to stay there longer but we had to work the following
week.
My most exciting trip has been one I took with my family
Topic 5: My favourite mean of travelling
I want to tell you about my best means of transport: the bus.
I like travelling by bus because it provides freedom.
In fact, you can travel by bus anywhere and at anytime.

Besides, it is cheaper and safer than other vehicle.

In addition, you can listen to music or read book while driving. This is mainly why I enjoy using
the bus.
However, it's true that the bus causes pollution. It causes many accidents and many people die.
Moreover, many people spend hours waiting in traffic jams daily.
Indeed, sometimes the traffic is so bad during the rush hours that it is not quicker than going on
foot or by bike.
Topic 6: My favourite restaurant
My favorite restaurant is DongXuyen, in LongXuyen City. The restaurant is really good. It is
located in the centre city and it is a very popular restaurant over there. The restaurant has a very
beautiful interior and the moment we enter the restaurant the whole interior and atmosphere welcomes
us. The restaurant services a local foods and it has a huge area. I often go there with my friends at once
week. The people who work there are friendly and hospitable. And, the price is cheap and reasonable.
You can get there by different ways. there are many local delicacies, but my favorite is the grilled
chicken. I hope I can invite you to that one. It is my favorite restaurant.
Topic 7: Keep fit
The health is very important in our life. It's necessary to keep fit. I have always been keen on
keeping fit. I often do physical exercises to keep fit.
After doing exercise such as running, playing table tennis. I feel relax and get rid of my stress.
There are many ways to keep fit. I want to give you some advice: You should do morning exercises or
play sports. You should have a good diet, eat enough the nutriment. Always have breakfast. You should
eat less meat, especial beef, fork, avoid eating chemical food and should eat a lot of fruit, vegetables and
fish; You should drink a lot water. You shouldnt smoke and drink too much alcohol.
Topic 8: My favourite TV program
Although Im very busy with my studies. Im very fond of watching television, I can only spend
two hour after dinner on my hobby. Of all the TV programs, I prefer the news. The news starts on all TV
channels at 7:00 p.m.
It helps me to know almost everything about different places in our country and important events
happening all over the world.
I can know about politic, economic, culture, sports, etc.
In addition, the news is useful for all kinds people, such as: the elderly, the youth, the farmer
I think that it is one of the most TV program which everybody like.
Topic 9: My favourite city
My favourite city is LongXuyen city in An Giang province. Its one of the centre city of Mekong
Delta. Its a hometown of Ton Duc Thang President. Its famous for fish, rice and vegetables. The city
has a large population of under one million people. Most of people of city are worker and officer. The
main industries in my city are seafood processing and commercial. Although they offer many job
opportunities but they cause so much pollution. I would like to live in there very much where I was born
and grew up.
Topic 10: My hometown
I would like to talk about my hometown. That is Long Xuyen city in An Giang province. An
Giang is one of the centre province of Mekong Delta. Its a hometown of Ton Duc Thang President. Its
famous for fish, rice and vegetables. It has a large population of over 2 millions people. The people are
polite and warm hearted. There is a wide variety of tradition food. There are a lot of pagodas and
mountains. You can take pictures in everywhere. There are many trade villages traditional. My

hometown is developing with many factories. Although they offer many job opportunities they cause so
much pollution. I will take you to famous tourist sights. I love it very much.
Topic 11: The advantages and disadvantages of television.
TV has brought a lot of advantages, such as: we can keep updated with whats happening in the
world. Television connect us to the world. It provides us with many entertainment programs. Watching
TV is the easiest way to reduce stress. We can learn English on TV. Watching TV is enrich our
knowledge, etc.
However, there are some disadvantages of TV, such as: Watching TV is time-consuming. It
prevents us from communicating with each other. People spend lots of time watching TV. There is too
much violence on some programs, etc.
I often watch TV about two hour a day. I usually watch the news and documentaries. Because, It
helps me to know everything all over the world. And, I dont like advert program. Because there are
adverts every 15 minutes.
Topic 12: What make a happy family
I think family can be happier if everyone spend more time doing thing together.
Fisrt, we show affection for each other. We may not have enough money to have all the good
things in life but we are cheerful. When someone has a problem, everyone in the family try to help each
other.
Second, family arguments are normal but we should be quick to forgive and say sorry.
Thirst , parents should be friend but we should be hard on children and follow the rules in the
family. Everyone open to each other. We always express our feeling honestly.
Finally, everyone have to be responsible and compliment to each other.
Topic 13: Describe the weather in Vietnam
Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate.
The weather is different in different parts of Vietnam.
In the North, there are four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
There are two seasons in the South and Central Vietnam.
Im living in the South, I want to talk about weather South.
In the South, It has rainy season and dry season.
The weather is normally from 30 to 36 degree celsius.
I like most the summer because:
- Its a long holiday for teacher.
- I like swimming and going to the sea.
- Im more active in summer
Topic 14: The Internet
The Internet is a global information system. Nowadays, the Internet is popular everywhere in the
world.
The Internet has some advantages, such as: It is a big store of information. It connects many
people all over the world. There are many services on Internet, such as: online banking, job seeking and
buying. Online education is also popular on Internet.
Besides, there are many disadvantages. Children can connect to these websites that are not good for
them. It is difficult to know whether the information is right or wrong to the Internet. If I am addicted, It
is a time-consuming.
