1.What are natural and educational contexts?

Natural we teach naturally by being with native speaker, by talking, observing, listening informal learning.
Educational we learn in classroom, we pay attention to the language, we learn sth by heart formal learning.
3.What is the difference between acquisition and learning.

Acquisition is getting knowledge of the language subconsciously without attention, by observation, listening,
talking natural context.
Learning is getting knowledge of the language consciously, by studying rules, focused on the language
educational learning
6.Name and define the types of context in natural second language settings.

Second language learning in majority language context are typically members of ethnic minorities:
immigrants, migrant workers or the children of such groups. Learning a language in the country where its spoken
as a mother tongue. Doesnt attended to classes, stays with family, emigrate abroad.
Second language in official contexts - situation where L2 is used as an official language of the country (India).
Second language learning in international contexts - neither spoken as a L1 nor official language.
Interpersonal communications. Air speak air traffic controllers and pilots. Sea speak same

8.What is the difference between second and foreign language contexts.

Second language when we learn English in country where its a national language then its a second language
context. The language is everywhere, in the classroom and outside it.
Foreign Language we talk about English as foreign language when we learn it where English isnt a national or
official language, so people outside the classroom dont speak English. Language is taught only in classroom, a
small access after it.
10.What are the advantages and disadvantages of monolingual classrooms?

Monolingual classroom:
- Advantages it is easier to explain grammar and vocabulary
- Disadvantages desire to speak in their mother tongue, there is no motivation to speak L2 as much as possible,
sb who replaces L2 with word from L1 doesnt see the necessity to learn L2 (his language doesnt improve).
11.What are the implications of teaching English as an international language?
The speakers may or may not be native speakers and the speech events may or may not be inside a country when the
language is spoken as a mother tongue.

12.What is the difference between subtractive and additive bilingualism?

Substractive bilingualism situation you learn L2 and stop using L1 or even forget.
Additive bilingualism learn L2 but still keep L1.
