    Head : (H)
    The total energy of the fluid particles per unit weight is known as head.
    Units:
    The unit of head is meter.
    Following are different types of head.

    Kinetic Head :

    Kinetic energy per unit weight of the fluid is known as kinetic head.
    K.H= v2/2g

    Potential Head :

    Potential head is the potential energy per unit weight.


    Potential head = z

    Pressure Head :

    It is the pressure energy per unit weight.


    Pressure head=p/

    Total Head :

    The sum of all heads will be the total head.


    T.H=v2/2g+ z + p/
