Provides facility performance analysis, modeling, and engineering support to assist in the
optimization of plant operations. Performs and facilitates all aspects of turbine, boiler, and heat
rejection cycle performance testing and analysis of Plant and its components in order to
determine heat rate, capacity, component performance and other metrics needed by the business.
Results and trends will be used to manage power purchase agreement contracts and to support
business decisions for monitoring the heat rate and capability of generating assets, trending and
improving plant performance, Plant economic dispatch and betterment
* Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain work area in safe manner
Collect, process and analyze data for Plant performance metrics and assessment reports
Create performance summary reports (daily, weekly, monthly, annually, et al) supported by data
analysis.
Assist Plant Management to identify emerging issues and trends
Conducts conceptual engineering and design of plant, processes and facilities
Recommends and implements system enhancements to improve efficiency and plant operating
economics
Document performance analysis results and data
Maintain performance metric databases and records
Coordinate with internal AES Teams and departments to address Plant needs and issues
Support ad-hoc data requests and information needs of Plant and business personnel
Strictly complies with corporate governance and principles, such as, but not limited to,
Housekeeping, Safety, Environmental, and Code of Conduct and Discipline and adheres to AES
core values. Actively participates in Plant Wide and Safety Meetings
Ensures that correct Risk Assessments are carried out for all work under his responsibility
Understand that Employees expectations and results will be measured on his ability to achieve
goals, initiatives, and expectations as set forth and agreed upon between the employee and their
Team Manager/Leader
Ensure adherence to company rules and regulations and actively participate in company
sponsored programs
Job Requirement
* Qualifications & Personal Requirements:
Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited educational institution with emphasis on
statistics, mathematics, and science or equivalent technical training
Working knowledge of ASME Performance Test Codes, including PTC-4, PTC-6 and PTC-46.
Understanding of power plant operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to analyze and solve complex issues and problems.
