Skills & Abilities

External relationship building I previously served as the primary liaison between Cenovus Energy and
the Department of National Defense, Canadian Forces Base Suffield. I was responsible for not only
maintaining compliance with Federal Statutes but also maintaining positive relations with the military for
the last nine years of significant development. It required an understanding of the motivations of DND
and their culture, working through challenging problems (live fire training and oil and gas development)
while advocating for Cenovus. I maintained strong regulatory relationships with members of the Alberta
Energy Regulator, Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development and Environment
Canada.

Internal relationship building maintaining environmental compliance on the federal lands of CFB
Suffield as well as the provincial and freehold lands surrounding the base has required collaborating
with many teams. I partnered with many internal groups including drilling, completions, pipelining,
operations, engineering, and legal as well as my own environment and regulatory team to ensure
commitments were upheld and impacts associated with development were minimized.

Technical ability I have a strong grasp of the environment legislation regulating oil and gas operations.
Participating in a Joint Review Panel CEAA hearing demanded working long hours while maintaining
focus. Cenovus relied upon me to provide expert witness testimony on the environmental practices of
Cenovus and our ability to follow through on commitments.

Maintaining good fitness is critical to performing well at work. I am an avid mountain biker, skier, and
recently competed in my first off-road triathlon. I have coached over 10 seasons of junior soccer, which
has taught me how to interact with children and to build their self-esteem while relentlessly encouraging
them to become better. I am currently learning to play acoustic guitar with my daughter.
