1. Describe the main character in the movie you watched.
The main character in the movie I watched is Sam Dawson, a man with a developmental disability, is the single father of Lucy, following their abandonment by her mother, who is revealed to be a homeless woman who "just needed a place to sleep". Despite his limitations, Sam is well-adjusted and has a supportive group of friends with developmental disabilities. 2. What was his/her exceptionality? Describe. The disability of Sam, the main character of the story, is autism in which a mental condition, present from early childhood, characterized by difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract concepts and retarded in capable of learning numerous skills and living independent or semi-independent adult live. 3. What problems/difficulties did the main character experience? In terms of Sams vocational status, he was able to support his everyday life as well as the needs of her daughter with the use of his job in Starbucks Coffee as a clerk but his daughter suffers bullying in her friends because of his fathers disability. In terms of the mental age range, he has an intellectual capacity of 7 years old. Sam cant really communicate effectively and he stutters sometimes. 4. Who provided support? What support did he/she get from his environment? Sam provided supports by his friends with also have a mental retardation but they help Sam in terms of being a good father and support also from his lawyer friend and a mother who adopt his daughter to raise Lucy to be a good individual.
