INTRODUCTION
Established in 1954
Situated 22 km Mansehra-Naran Road at
an altitude of 3700 ft
Average annual rainfall- 1300 mm.
First batch of Rambouillet sheep imported
from USA in 1957 (80-Ewes and 5-Rams).
Second batch of Rambouillet sheep
imported from USA in 1992 (300-Ewes and
21-Rams).

MANDATE
1. To maintain a nucleus herd of
Rambouillet sheep and its appropriate
crossbred animals
2. To maintain a continuous supply of
superior breeding animals to sheep
breeders
3. To conduct Experiments and develop
appropriate technologies in small
ruminant production
4. To serve as demonstration, training
and technology transfer center

More than 5000 Elite Breeding Rams distributed in the
Hazara and Malakand regions.
A.I in Goats in progress with exotic semen Sannen & Boer.
Conducted 1st A.I in Goats Training in K.P.K.
Started A.I in Sheep.
Conducted Shearing Training for Sheep Breeders with
coordination of Textile Ministry.
Joint venture for demonstration of Wool Value Chain
introduced.
More than 50 Research projects completed ( M.Sc and Ph.D)
Establishment of Anogra Rabbit Model Farm in progress.
